Eastern Communications expands in Negros, Bicol

Richmond Mercurio - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Eastern Communications has expanded its footprint in the provinces of Negros and Bicol, with the aim of helping businesses in those areas emerge stronger with the company’s connectivity and ICT services.

Eastern Communications said it has recently introduced its products and services ranging from connectivity, data, and collaboration solutions to businesses in Bacolod City and Dumaguete City in Negros, as well as in Legazpi City, Naga City, and Sorsogon City in Bicol.

The company said the expansion is part of its goal of “democratizing technology in the country by becoming a one-stop shop for all connectivity and ICT demands across the country.”

“We are pleased to announce that Eastern is now ready to strengthen our strong connection with our kababayans in Negros and Bicol through our best-in-class solutions and personalized service,” Eastern Communications sales head Michael Castañeda said.

“It is our mission to always have the happiest customers in the business, and we’re looking forward to helping them harness technology to the best of our abilities, so we can emerge stronger together,” he said.

Aside from its premium and dedicated high-speed business-grade connectivity product, Eastern Communications also offers a business-grade cloud service as well as a suite of premium cybersecurity solutions equipped by global partners such as Cisco, Fortinet, and DOSarrest, among others.

The company has earmarked P3 billion in capital expenditures this year for infrastructure improvement and countryside development.

“Our goal this year is to make digital technology as accessible as possible, especially to serve the underserved and unserved area in the country,” Castañeda said.

Eastern Communications is eyeing to expand to Kalibo, Boracay, Zamboanga, Butuan, and Bohol within the second quarter.

Last year, the company was able to complete the rollout of its services in areas such as Tuguegarao, Batangas, Lucena, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro and Davao City, augmenting its existing coverage areas in Metro Manila, Laguna, Cavite, Pampanga, Baguio and Cebu.
