Wedding under the Texan sun
Jill Kierulf was the prettiest bride in Austin, Texas when she married her long-time love, Alexander Santos. Their romantic story started in 1997 when they first met in Manila through Michelle Santos- Lim, Alex’s cousin. Instant attraction was inevitable for the two college students in the days of overseas phone calls, snail mail, and faxed love letters but eventually distance made it difficult to maintain their relationship so they drifted apart.
Fast forward to 14 years later and Michelle once again entered the picture by having the couple befriend each other on Facebook. Jill and Alex picked up from there and through video chatting, e-mailing, whatsapp, and Facebook, their romance blossomed once again and culminated in a beautiful wedding ceremony at the 160-year-old St. Mary Cathedral in Austin, Texas.
Guests flew in from Manila, Thailand, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Mexico, and other parts of the United States for the intimate wedding reception at the historic landmark hotel The Driskill. Close friends and family of the bridal couple could not help but notice that Jill and Alex only had eyes for each other the whole evening — truly a beautiful way to cap their love story that started 15 years ago.

Women of all ages graced the opening night of Ballet Philippines’ season opener, Songs, at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. They were in for a wonderful time, reveling in the different emotions, dance styles, and superb dancing. The highlight of the evening was the delightful performance of principal dancer Candice Adea, fresh from her first place win in the prestigious Helsinki International Ballet Competition. Applause greeted her the moment she stepped onstage with her partner, Jean Marc Cordero.
