LPA to bring rains to MIMAROPA, Western Visayas

MANILA, Philippines — MIMAROPA and Western Visayas may experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to a low-pressure area (LPA), the state weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.
As of 3 a.m. on Dec. 8, the LPA — formerly Tropical Depression Wilma — was located over the coastal waters of Culasi, Antique.
Amihan to bring rains. Different weather systems are also expected to bring rain across various parts of the country.
Metro Manila, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon and the rest of Calabarzon will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon, or amihan.
The Ilocos Region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also because of the amihan.
Shear line, easterlies. The Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, Aurora and Quezon may see cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.
The Bicol Region is likely to have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
Mindanao and the rest of the Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms from localized convective activity.
