Among the additional IFPs approved by the NEDA Board earlier this week are the San Mariano-Palanan Road Project, Aritao-Quirino Road Project, the Bohol-Panglao International Airport upgrade and operations and maintenance, Accelerated Bridge Construction Project for Greater Economic Mobility and Calamity Response, Subic Bay (Redondo-Ilanin) Bridge Project, Capas-Botolan Road Project, Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Measures in the Low-Lying Areas of Pampanga Bay Stage II Project, Cabadbaran -Puting Bato-Lanuza Road, Agusan del Norte or Agusan del Sur North-South Lateral Road Project, Agusan del Norte / Agusan del Sur North-South Lateral Road, (Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte-Kapalong, Davao del Norte) Project and the Magat Dam Sedimentation Countermeasure Project.

MANILA, Philippines —The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) has identified the projects that were added to the government’s list of infrastructure flagship projects (IFPs).

Among the additional IFPs approved by the NEDA Board earlier this week are the San Mariano-Palanan Road Project, Aritao-Quirino Road Project, the Bohol-Panglao International Airport upgrade and operations and maintenance, Accelerated Bridge Construction Project for Greater Economic Mobility and Calamity Response, Subic Bay (Redondo-Ilanin) Bridge Project, Capas-Botolan Road Project, Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Measures in the Low-Lying Areas of Pampanga Bay Stage II Project, Cabadbaran -Puting Bato-Lanuza Road, Agusan del Norte or Agusan del Sur North-South Lateral Road Project, Agusan del Norte / Agusan del Sur North-South Lateral Road, (Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte-Kapalong, Davao del Norte) Project and the Magat Dam Sedimentation Countermeasure Project.

Other additional IFPs approved by the NEDA Board are the Butuan City- Agusan del Norte Logistical Highway Project, construction of Lopez Viaduct along Daang Maharlika in Quezon, New Baguio Airport Project, New Cagayancillo Airport Project, Luzon Eastern Seaboard Road Network Project, Alicia-Angadanan -San Guillermo-Cauayan City-Naguilian Alternate Route Project, Donsol-Pilar-Castilla-Sorsogon City (DonPiCaSo) Tourism Highway Project, Iligan City Coastal Bypass Road, Consolacion-Liloan Bypass Road Project, Cagayan de Oro Diversion Road Extension (Jct. Sayre Highway (Balubal)-Manolo Fortich-Malitbog-Claveria-Eureka, Gingoog City Road) Project, CDO-Opol-El Salvador-Alubijid-Laguindingan Airport (Pueblo de Oro/CDO Airport to Jct. BCIR Laguindingan) Mountain Diversion Road Project, Infrastructure for Safer and Resilient Schools Project and the Cagayan de Oro Coastal Road (Puerto-Gusa Section) Project.

Meanwhile, those taken out of the IFP list include the Angeles Public Transport Modernization Project, Antique Airport Development Project, Bataan Bus Rapid Transit, Bike Share Program Project, Calapangan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project, Climate Change Adaptation Works National Irrigation System Project, Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program-Irrigation Component Project, Convergence Area Agro-Forestry Abundance and Productivity Using Integrated Technologies Thru Barangay-Based Agricultural Ventures and Advancement Project, Davao City Expressway Project,  Digital Transformation Centers (Upgraded “Tech4ED” Project), EDSA Greenways Phase 2 Project and the Groundwater Pump Irrigation Project.

The other delisted projects are the extension or expansion of existing National Irrigation Systems Project, FMRDP (Farm-to-Market-Road Development Program)-Farm-to-Market Road Projects, Halal Infrastructure Modernization Project, Ilaguen Multipurpose Irrigation and Hydropower Project, Ilocos Sur Transbasin Project, improvement of service roads in the National Irrigation Systems Project, Integrated Solid Waste Disposal Facility Project, Matuno River Development Project, Muleta Reservoir Irrigation and Hydropower Project, North Luzon East Expressway Project, Palsiguan River Irrigation Project, PFDA (Philippine Fisheries Development Authority) -Construction/Rehabilitation/Improvement of Fish Ports and Other Fishery Post-Harvest Facilities Project, Renewable Energy Program for the Agri-Fishery Sector Project, repair of Communal Irrigation System Project, repair of National Irrigation System Project, restoration  of Communal Irrigation Systems Project, restoration of National Irrigation Systems Project, Rice Infrastructure Modernization Project, Road Transport Information Technology Infrastructure Project Phase II, Ship Repair Facility Compound Redevelopment Project, Small Irrigation Project, SRA (Sugar Regulatory Administration) - Construction of Farm-to-Mill Roads Project, Vaccine Self-Reliance Project and the Wawa Bulk Water Supply Project.

The NEDA Board approved the inclusion of 23 new IFPs, and removed 36 projects from the list of priority infrastructure projects during its meeting last Tuesday.

The changes brought the total number of IFPs to 185 IFP projects with a total value of P9.14 trillion.

NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, who also serves as the NEDA Board vice chair, said the approved changes are aimed at prioritizing faster implementation of crucial projects.
