Megaworld expands residential footprint in McKinley

Iris Gonzales - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The group of tycoon Andrew Tan has further expanded its residential footprint in the posh Mckinley Hill mixed-use district in Taguig.

Megaworld, the Tan-owned property giant, launched St. Mark Residences, a 23-story residential tower in the upscale district which expands the company’s presence in the area.

The company expects to generate around P4 billion in sales from the project, which it expects to complete in 2021.

St. Mark Residences will be among the last residential projects in McKinley Hill, according to Megaworld senior vice president Noli Hernandez.

“St. Mark Residences will be conveniently located beside the iconic Venice Grand Canal Mall. Living in McKinley Hill allows walkable access to the mall and close proximity to and from C5 and the South Luzon Expressway, as well as the Makati CBD via McKinley Road,” he said.

St. Mark Residences has a direct connection to the Venice Grand Canal Mall.

McKinley Hill is a 50-hectare township development within Fort Bonifacio. At present, it is home to McKinley Hill Village, several residential towers, office towers, schools, foreign embassies and the McKinley Hill Football Stadium.

With all these establishments, McKinley is host to 100,000 workers, mostly from the IT and BPO sectors. These employees are employed in the various towers inside the district, while around 15,000 residents live in the township.

The new residential tower offers 235 spacious units ranging from studio with a size of up to 41 square meters; one-bedroom with up to 66 square meters; two-bedroom with up to 163 square meters, and three-bedroom with a size of up to 120 square meters. All unit sizes have their own balconies.

Hernandez also said that St. Mark Residences offers a wide array of amenities at its third-level podium.

These amenities include a clubhouse pavilion, swimming pool, children’s playground, fitness station, mini-theater, function halls, library, gym with sauna, massage area, badminton courts, and a tennis court.

The residential tower also features full RFID access on each unit and in the elevators for enhanced security.

At present, Megaworld already has 24 townships and lifestyle communities spread across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Of the different townships, Megaworld has nine in Metro Manila. These include Eastwood City, McKinley Hill, Forbes Town, McKinley West, Uptown Bonifacio, Newport City, Alabang West, Westside City and Arcovia City.

Outside Metro Manila but within the Luzon area, Megaworld has eight townships. These are in Capital Town Pampanga, Eastland Heights, Twin Lakes, Southwoods City, Suntrust Ecotown, Maple Grove, Hamptons Caliraya and Highland City.

Megaworld also has six townships in the Visayas, which include The Mactan Newtown, Iloilo Business Park, Boracay Newcoast, The Upper East, Northill Gateway and Sta. Barbara Heights; and one in Mindanao, the Davao Park District.
