Toyota Classics changes lives in Eastern Visayas
MANILA, Philippines - Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation (TMP) presents “Music that Moves Lives” in its 26th Toyota Classics on Oct. 16. The Award-winning Budapest Operetta and Musical Theater are the perfomers in this event.
The concert makes a difference in the lives of Filipinos as the proceeds of ticket sales are donated to help various humanitarian organizations. This year’s proceeds will go to International Care Ministries, Gawad Kalinga and Philippine Red Cross.
Last year, having sold tickets amounting to P1.5 M TMP doubled the amount which served as proceeds for beneficiaries such as Gawad Kalinga and Plan International.
Toyota’s partnership with Plan International, a child-centered humanitarian organization, bannering education, child health, child protection and youth engagement, was facilitated by Metrobank Foundation. Together, this collaboration was able to assist in rehabilitating schools devastated by the super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in Leyte and Samar. While other organizations funded the reconstruction of schools, the Toyota Classics donation was allocated to equip the schools with necessary furniture and fixtures.
To date, half of the donation has already been utilized to equip seven schools by furnishing a total of 25 classrooms. Each classroom has 50 armchairs, a teacher’s table, two electric fans, blackboards, audio-visual system, voice amplifier plus other fixtures. The newly furnished classrooms are now being utilized by over 900 student beneficiaries coming from eight barangays.
