Share a toy, make a child happy at SM

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -SM invites its shoppers to play Santa and share the joys of Christmas with less fortunate children in its Share a Toy, Make a Child Happy campaign.

In this joint project, Toy Kingdom and the SM Store — in partnership with SM Foundation and the Department of Social Welfare and Development — have set up Share a Toy booths at all SM Stores and Toy Kingdom branches where shoppers can donate old or new toys until Dec. 31.

SM and Toy Kingdom are likewise sharing the joys of Christmas with big-hearted shoppers. Every time they buy toys to donate from SM and Toy Kingdom, every P500 single receipt purchase on regular priced toys entitles one to a P50 off coupon valid until Jan. 31, 2014.

Christmas came early for 20 children from the Laura Vicuña Foundation, the first Share a Toy beneficiaries. Felicidad Sy and SM Store president Jorge T. Mendiola together with Toy Kingdom SVP for operations Rose Dy-Lim took part in the heartwarming gift-giving ceremony at SM Cubao, happily handing toys from Toy Kingdom to the delighted kids.  Many more less fortunate children from DSWD accredited beneficiaries nationwide will receive toys from SM and Toy Kingdom.

This is the 14th year of SM and DSWD’s collaboration for the Share a Toy, Make a Child Happy project. This year’s tie-up was earlier formalized in a memorandum of agreement signed by DSWD Undersecretary in Institutional Development Group (IDG) Angelita Medel and DSWD Assistant Bureau director Pacita Sarino with SM Foundation Inc. executive director Connie Angeles and SAVP for SM operations Central 1 Ma. Cecilia J. Abreu at the DSWD Central Office.
