Bistro Group turns the lights off

-

MANILA, Philippines - There’s a lot to be said about candle-lit dinners but at Bistro Group of Restaurants, there is only one message: Help save Mother Earth.

The Bistro Group launches “Lights Off for a New Glow,” an environment-friendly campaign in support of the global efforts of Earth Hour. Beginning May 14, non-essential lights will simultaneously be turned off for one full hour in all branches of T.G.I.Friday’s, Italianni’s, Fish & Co., Flapjacks, Billy Rock, Pig Out, The Stock Market and Krazy Garlik. Tables will then be aglow with tea light candles, adding up to a wonderful ambience while espousing a good cause. It will run from 8:30 p.m. -9:30 p.m. every 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month until the end of the year.

By supporting Earth Hour, Bistro restaurants take positive action on global warming and climate change. “We aim to encourage our guests to be more aware of current environmental concerns and do their share in support of Earth Hour. This one small act can create a ripple effect,” said Lisa Ronquillo, Bistro Group’s assistant vice-president for marketing. “This is the first time that such an initiative is being implemented in the local casual dining industry. Bistro is committed to do its share beyond the hour.”   Earth Hour is organized by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It encourages households, businesses, and communities to turn off lights and other appliances for one hour    as their contribution to help protect our planet from the adverse effects of climate change.

Guests will be greeted by door personnel clad in special Earth Hour shirts while the waitstaff will wear Earth Hour buttons and pins and glow-in-the-dark accessories. While the lights are turned off, guests can enjoy their favorite salads, appetizers, entrees, pastas, pizzas, desserts and beverages in a candle-lit setting.

Over the years, all restaurants of the Bistro Group have always been known for its good food, great service, and welcoming and warm ambience. As it supports Earth Hour with a year-long commitment to reduce energy usage, dining at the restaurants   is not only fun and but is an earth-friendly experience as well.
