Bow wow, it's Christmas

-

MANILA, Philippines - “We increasingly observe people taking their dogs for a stroll at the mall, or even bringing them to important family gatherings. The Christmas season is just another opportunity for people to practice responsible pet ownership by reciprocating that unconditional affection that they get from their dogs all year round,” said Philippine Canine Club Inc. PCCI president Ronnie Natividad.

According to PCCI, the country’s sole internationally accredited dog registration body, Christmas is an opportune time for pet owners to spend even greater quality time with their dogs.

A great way to kick off the season is by giving your pet dog a fab new look.  Bring your dog to your favorite pet salon and have him/her pampered and dolled up. After which, prepare to strike a pose with your picture-perfect pooch, and have the photos made into Christmas cards. Better yet, start a holiday tradition by framing the photos and placing them in a special Christmas corner for everyone to enjoy every year.

For the travel-loving dog lover, taking your dog to a Christmas trip in the country’s most loved destinations would not only be among the ‘firsts’ in your dog’s life itinerary, it’s also a fun way to bond through exercise and other leisure activities that come with the trip.

Why not invite your friends over and have them bring their own pet dogs for a festive celebration of the holidays?

“Getting together this holiday season with your friends and their pet dogs is an excellent way to socialize about the requisites of dog ownership, while having fun as well. It becomes a chance for everyone to know how each can take good care of his/her pet responsibly, like sharing the importance of having the dogs registered with an authorized purebred dog registering body; of giving them proper care, maintenance and medication; as well as of training them,” adds Natividad. “Whatever plans pet owners might have in celebrating Christmas with their dogs, the activities should be a learning experience, allowing owners to be more attuned to their dogs’ needs. More importantly, these activities should be enjoyed by both the dogs and pet owners. After all, everyone in the family deserves to be happy this Christmas.”
