The 2007 Best Dressed: Fashion for a cause
The ultra glamorous 2007 Best Dressed Women of the Philippines had businessmen, members from the diplomatic corps and social luminaries uniting for the worthiest cause. Organized by Jayelles Holdings for the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS), the much awaited social event of the season was held at the posh and exquisite Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-la. Giving their unwavering support to the affair were event partners Lifestyle Asia, Makati Shangri-La, San Miguel Corp., Bank of Commerce, CATS Motors, FurnItalia, Rustan’s Essenses, Landmark and Vibal Publishing. Also giving their selfless service for their fellowmen were The Ambassadors for Life.
The celebration was led by PCS chairman Dr. Roberto Paterno, PCS special events chairperson Imelda Ongsiako Cojuangco, event co-chairs Consul Helen Ong and your columnist, committee members Consul Fortune Ledesma, Asia’s fashion czar Pitoy Moreno and businessman Gerry Contreras. The program, put together by Jayelles president and member of the organizing committee Roselle Rebano and SVP Bong Palma-Gil with the direction of Raymond Villanueva, featured the sweet serenade of the Manila Symphony Orchestra, a spectacular fashion parade by the awardees and an auction of premium items. With the goal of generating funds for significant programs addressing cancer awareness and care, the event reached this year’s donation goal through ticket sales, pledges and the benefit auction. It was an unforget-table night filled with merriment and charity.
