Res|Toe|Run makes strides for kids' education

- The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Literacy and education go hand in hand in helping mold today’s Filipino children to become productive members of society. Besides providing opportunities for learning and better employment, knowledge, especially among the poor and disadvantaged, is especially important. Without it, emerging from poverty may seem a distant possibility.

To help spread hope and ripples of positive change, Res|Toe|Run, in partnership with World Vision Philippines, raised funds for poor kids to help them reach for a better future. From financial assistance to improving classroom facilities and the provision of school supplies and other relevant aids for children in need, methods and means were created to help draw out more support and funds. Res|Toe|Run’s sponsorship donation for impoverished children under World Vision Philippines’ basic education program begins with a single pair of shoes. For every footwear purchase, three percent of the total sales of Res|Toe|Run outlets in the country will go directly to the sponsored children.

With this, Res|Toe|Run joins World Vision’s growing league of supporters and charity partners. “We are grateful to be part of World Vision’s advocacy,” said Joy Austria, brand manager for Res|Toe|Run. “Our shoes now are no longer just fashionable staples, they have become important, life-changing tools with a purpose. On the one end, our customers also take an immense part in this significant endeavor. With each shoe purchased by them, they help us create a brighter future for Filipino kids in need of support.

“Whenever customers step out of our boutiques, they not only flaunt fashion, they also spread the inspiration behind the cheer that they themselves help bring, as reflected in the smiles of these children,” Austria added.

Participating Res|Toe|Run outlets include branches in TriNoma, Glorietta 4, Marquee Mall, Ayala Cebu, Abreeza in Davao, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Manila, Robinsons Magnolia, Robinsons Palawan, Robinsons Pangasinan, Robinsons Laoag, Robinsons Dumaguete, Robinsons Gensan, Robinsons Tacloban, Gateway Mall, Podium Mall, Shangri-la Mall, Festival Mall, Alabang Town Center, Lucky China Town Mall Binondo, Market! Market!, Camp John Hay Baguio, Avenue Square Naga, Embarcadero Legazpi City, and Solenad 2 in Nuvali, Laguna.

Besides this campaign, Res|Toe|Run’s past advocacy projects include Takbo Para sa Libreng Kolehiyo, Pro-Earth environmental crusades, Haribon Foundation’s Multreeply Tree planting, the “I Run” Campaign, United Nations’ End Hunger, Run to Educate, and a skateboarding competition to benefit street children.

Managed by the Primer Group of Companies, Res|Toe|Run is the country’s first and only restaurant-inspired boutique that elevates shoe-shopping standards by innovating itself as a one-stop destination for footwear aficionados of all ages. It was named after the three major footwear categories it offers: Res (which represents casual footwear), Toe (composed of toe-flaunting sandals and flip-flops) and Run (athletic and athlete-inspired footwear).
