Langka in Coco Caldereta Sauce

Mama Sita’s, a popular brand of mixes and sauces, suggests combining the gata (coconut milk) with caldereta sauce to cook the langka in, with this Langka in Coco Caldereta Sauce recipe featured in its newly released "Easy Vegetarian Recipes" cookbooklet. Langka in Coco Caldereta Sauce
Ingredients:
2 tbsps. cooking oil
4 cloves garlic, crushed
1 pc. red onion, sliced
1/2 kg. unripened jackfruit (langka), trimmed and sliced thinly
2 cups water
1/2 pc. red bell pepper, cut into triangles
2 pcs. raw green chilies
3 cups coconut milk (gata)
1 pouch Mama Sita’s Caldereta Mix
Procedure:
1. Sauté garlic and onion in oil until soft.
2. Add langka and water. Let boil. Continue cooking over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
3. When the langka is already tender, add green chilies, red bell pepper, coconut milk, and Mama Sita’s Caldereta Mix. Continue cooking until sauce thickens.
4. Remove from heat and serve.
