The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Gone are the days when the sun is out and the sky is blue. Nowadays, all we see are gray skies and more often than not, the rain affects our productivity, sometimes leaving us in a slump. Maybe it’s the cuddle weather or the fact that rain makes traffic in Metro Manila even more unbearable, but there are just some things that keep us from wanting to leave our beds.

But this August, Power Plant Mall  and Radio Republic give you more reasons to come out and get inspired with Focus on the Arts: Art in Transit. They celebrate music and the arts by inviting renowned musicians and visual artists. The event kicked off last Aug. 3 with live art from Dee Jae Pa’este and music from The Jireh Calo Project and Humanfolk.

You can still catch performances from jazz and funk band The Slink and blues band The Brat Pack and a live painting show by Anjo Bolarda on Aug.  10 at the South Court of Power Plant Mall from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Aug. 17, analogue beats by BP Valenzuela and warm folk tunes by The Ransom Collective will accompany live art from Tokwa Penaflorida.

If you’re up for an afternoon of good tunes and stunning visual art, drop by Power Plant Mall and beat the rainy day blues. Who knows, you might just get new material for that rainy day playlist you’ve been working on.
