Philippines wins Asia's Best Dive Destination at Travel Weekly Asia Readers' Choice Awards 2023
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines was recognized as the Best Dive Destination in the Asia Pacific region at the 2023 Travel Weekly Asia (TWA) Readers' Choice Awards.
The awards ceremony hosted by the Northstar Travel Group annually recognizes hotels, resorts, airlines, destinations, cruise lines, and travel agencies via online polling of TWA readers and industry professionals.
Finalists and winners are featured in different TWA issues for readers to learn more about each destination’s unique pieces of scenery and experiences.
Present at the ceremony last October 3 in Singapore's Conrad Centennial to receive the recognition were Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines Acting Head for ASEAN and the Pacific Division Micaela B. Ochoa and Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General based in the Embassy of the Philippines in Singapore, Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez.

In a statement, TPB Philippines' Chief Operating Officer Marga Nograles offered her gratitude to TWA and its readers for the Philippines' newest honor.
"This accolade underscores our commitment to preserving and showcasing the exceptional natural wonders that our country is blessed with, from our wide range of diving destinations that cater to both novice and experienced divers alike, to our equally diverse shorelines and surrounding coral reefs that are home to thousands of marine species," said Nograles.
The recognition comes on the heels of the Philippines being named the World’s Leading Dive Destination and Asia’s Leading Dive Destination once again at the World Travel Awards 2023.
Other major winners at the 2023 TWA Readers' Choice Awards in the Asia Pacific region were Malaysia's Penang as Best Island Destination, Singapore Airlines as Best Airline, Changi Airport as Best Airport, and Thailand as Best Destination.
