Chavit Singson not in favor of transgender people, mothers joining Miss Universe
MANILA, Philippines — Former Ilocos Sur Vice Governor Luis "Chavit" Singson gave his reaction over Miss Universe Organization's (MUO) move to allow transwomen and women with children to compete at the prestigious pageant.
In his interview with Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) last Saturday, Singson explained why he was not in favor of the move.
So ngayon, ahhh nagpapasok sila ng may anak. Hindi na Miss Universe iyon. Miss Universe, e, masisira na 'yun. Hindi dapat,” he added.
Singson said that the MUO should stick to its old rules.
“Iyon lang dapat. At saka lahat, buong mundo, 'pag ginagawa ang Miss Universe, hotel lang sila,” he said.
“Maski noong araw. Dahil takot silang may mangyari. International issue, e.
“Then after that, sabi nila, the most successful Miss Universe… Philippines!”
