Boracay divas at Fairways

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -
Aslight drizzle gave media members more reason to party and drink away at Fairways & Bluewater Resort Golf and Country Club. It was, after all, a fun fam trip organized to give them a unique Boracay off-peak experience. The pleasant Asian Spirit flight was ontime as always and the efficient staff members were more than willing to make us comfortable in our journey. More than that, the friendly flight crew made us more excited to spend four glorious days in island bliss.

Fairways general manager Geb Bilbao was the willing host who made all of us feel warm and welcome despite the rain, while member relations and marketing director Jennifer Alonte gave us a pleasant tour of the vast property filled with awe-inspiring landscapes of verdant greens. From the charming and luxurious Mediterranean-inspired villas to the fabulous rooms of Fairway’s Mulligan Golf Hotel, Fairways is definitely heaven on earth for both golfers and non-golfers. Plenty of picture-taking was held atop Hole No.14, the best vantage point in the whole of Boracay from which to enjoy a bird’s eye view of the captivating island.

Come nighttime, the excited guests were escorted from the Pirate’s Den clubhouse through candlelit pathways leading to Paradise Cove, Fairway’s private beach. A dramatic bonfire lighting signaled the start of the partying. The veritable feast included seafood and lechon cooked to perfection, a Mongolian station, a crepe cookery, and every conceivable drink at the bar. Soon after, my shy and withdrawn companions took to the videoke machine to be the new divas and singing stars of Boracay!

Thanks to Fairways & Bluewater for a magical evening!
Venetian Masquerade Ball
The fantasy, merriment and romance of the Venetian Masquerade comes to Manila with Carnevale di Venezia, an annual charity ball, on November 8 at the NBC Tent. Hosted by the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines with its president, Honorary Consul Mellie Ablaza, together with events chair, Honorary Consul Helen Ong and annual ball director Nene Leonor, the highly-anticipated cultural event will include performances by opera singers, formal dance by FCCP officers and members, a parade of masks and costumes, as well as a silent auction of donations from designers, painters, jewelers and more. Proceeds will go to the creation of the FCCP Room at the National Museum, which will house a permanent exhibit of the pictorial history of the National Museum Building (formerly the Old Senate building).
