Are you T-Sure?

It was fun getting behind the wheel of the Toyota Fortuner, recently. As I drove the Fortuner out of town that early Saturday morning I was a happy camper as the traffic was light, the streets more friendly and the Fortuner a joy to drive.

As I enter the Sky way, my thoughts turn to a conversation I had with TMP’s Mike Masamayor, Vice President, Value Chain Department, Marketing Division. We talked about how TMP has responded to the rising demand in reliable and flexible mobility options and that it is further expanding the possibilities for its customers by strengthening its used vehicle program.

The “T-Sure, Toyota Quality Pre-owned Cars” (T-Sure), the program offers an alternative to consumers who are looking for worry-free car purchase options without compromising quality, value, safety, and excellent service.

The program is anchored on Toyota’s commitment to quality, durability and reliability, as well as its philosophy to strengthen customer satisfaction and retention. Likewise, aligned with Toyota’s global vision of — “Creating Mobility for All,” the T-Sure Program is part of Toyota’s value chain that aims to provide another means for people to acquire a Toyota — that of acquiring a pre-owned car without sacrificing quality.

Why is there a need for renaming the program if it has been around for 10 years now?

Mike Masamayor: After 10 years of running the Program, TMP saw it as timely to further improve by implementing operational enhancements, as well as addressing current customer concerns. Due to this comprehensive overhaul, we see it appropriate to rename the program from TCUV to T-Sure to properly represent and communicate the strengths of the enhanced program.

What are some of the improvements that have been put in place with the T-Sure program?

Major improvements include a more thorough refurbishment process to significantly enhance the quality level of the vehicle’s interior and exterior.  We have also expanded our product line-up with three product types at various price points to better fit customers’ needs and budget as follows: (1) Toyota Certified Elite: T-Sure’s premium product with 1-year warranty on engine and transmission, which can be claimed at any Toyota outlet nationwide; (2) Toyota Value Plus: with 3-month warranty on engine and transmission, which can be claimed at selling dealer only; (3) Toyota Value Lite: without warranty but went through the same stringent standard process of vehicle check to ensure its quality.

For ease in vehicle purchase, customers may also avail of affordable financing schemes through Toyota Financial Services Philippines, which offers attractive packages and now with longer payment terms and expanded coverage up to 9-year old vehicles. Moreover, since customers are purchasing from Toyota, all other expert Toyota products and after-sales services such as Insurance, Parts, Accessories, Preventive Maintenance, etc. are available to T-Sure customers, making vehicle ownership and maintenance worry-free.

Lastly, we are increasing our used car sales network nationwide with 29 T-Sure retail outlets and more to come in the future. This is for us to reach more customers wherever they may be.

What guarantees have been put in place?

T-Sure guarantees transparency in vehicle condition and history as well as untampered odometer reading. Customers can have utmost peace of mind in his pre-owned car purchase. In addition, T-sure will take care of Transfer of Ownership and LTO Registration so customers don’t have to go through the hassle of processing these documentary requirements.

Have you noticed more customers being interested in T Sure since the pandemic years are behind us?

We have noticed more inquiries for pre-owned vehicles during the pandemic. Since public transportation has been limited and with higher risk of COVID-19 infection during daily commute, people look for affordable transportation options. Having a personal vehicle became more of a necessity, rather than a luxury.

How does TMP make sure that all pre-owned vehicles are not only of fair price but are also road worthy vehicles?

Even 10 years ago with TCUV, it has always been Toyota’s commitment to make used vehicle ownership worry-free. Each unit goes through a thorough 211-point inspection process, ensuring that vehicles pass high-quality standards. Prior selling to customers, quality level of vehicles are enhanced through a refurbishment process conducted by Toyota’s highly trained technicians. Limited warranties covering the engine and transmission are also available in the product line-up for added protection.

How does Toyota make sure that the pre-owned vehicles are as reliable as the showroom vehicles?

With T-Sure’s 211-pt checkup and thorough refurbishment process, customers are assured that they will have a reliable vehicle. Moreover, vehicle maintenance is worry-free, as customers can enjoy the same Toyota After Sales Services and Value Chain Offerings for their pre-owned car.

As I reach my breakfast destination in Tagaytay, my thought return to the drive. I am happy that the drive in the Toyota Fortuner has been peaceful and relaxing. I am ready to eat a yummy breakfast and after that I headed out to the Spa appointment that I made for a weekend me time.
