PAL resumes Clark trips to Boracay, Coron

Elijah Felice Rosales - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines —  Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has restored its Clark flights to island destinations Boracay and Coron, hoping that the resumption of these routes would revive domestic tourism.

In an advisory, PAL said it would reactivate its weekly flights from the Clark International Airport to Caticlan, the gateway to Boracay, and Busuanga, the access to Coron.

By April 1, PAL will operate its flights between Clark and Caticlan three times a week.

Flight PR 2376 departs Clark on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 3:05 in the afternoon and arrive in Caticlan more than an hour later. The return plane, Flight PR 2377, flies out of Caticlan at 4:40 in the afternoon and will land in Clark before six in the evening.

On the other hand, PAL said that it would deploy four flights a week between Clark and Busuanga starting April 2. Flight PR 2678 leaves Clark every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sundays at 3:05 in the afternoon, landing in Busuanga around an hour after.

The return trip, Flight PR 2379, departs Busuanga at 4:30 in the afternoon and will touch down in Clark an hour later.

PAL president and chief operating officer Stanley Ng said the airline restored its Clark flights to Boracay and Coron to serve travelers from the northern and central parts of Luzon.

Without these flights, guests coming from the northern end of Luzon would have to travel all the way to Manila to hop on a flight bound for Caticlan and Busuanga.

“The revival of these direct flights gives travelers from central and northern Luzon a convenient new way to access Boracay and Coron, demonstrating Clark airport’s position as a key jump-off point to the country’s prime island destinations,” Ng said.

“We aim to leverage on the strengths of Clark and maximize its potential as another PAL hub for both domestic and international flights.”
