PLDT, Smart to provide connectivity for ABS-CBN’s May 9 election coverage

MANILA, Philippines — Telco giant PLDT Inc. and its wireless unit Smart Communications Inc. are set to provide ABS-CBN with seamless connectivity for its upcoming election coverage.

PLDT said it is joining forces with ABS-CBN to deliver real-time broadcast coverage of the May 9 national elections.

Leveraging on 5G, PLDT will enable time-critical communication behind the scenes and in the actual live election coverage of ABS-CBN, which requires high reliability and consistent low-latency connectivity on a large scale.

PLDT said that through the partnership, it will play an essential role in ABS-CBN’s quest to redefine next-generation, anytime and anywhere entertainment and news content.

ABS-CBN’s “Halalan 2022: The ABS-CBN News Special Coverage” will begin its marathon livestreaming on the ABS-CBN News YouTube Channel and news.abs-cbn.com at 5 a.m. on May 9 until 12 noon on May 10.
