Let’s face it, this lockdown has not done us any good. The four months we’ve stayed at home meant missing out on planned travels, arranging Zoom hangouts in lieu of weekly dinner dates with friends, and stressing out over the future of the world. It’s been a hell of a year — and it’s only been seven months.

Included in the list of things we’ve been missing from pre-quarantine life: monthly facials and “treat yourself” days for relaxation where we can forget about life’s stresses, even just for a short while. Going out these days has become such a hassle, not to mention downright scary, and taking care of our skin has definitely taken a backseat. We’ve made do with our own skincare routines, but these regimens can only do so much, and with all our frustrations and anger from what’s happening around the world, our skin has been breaking out as if we’re back in our days of puberty.

Thankfully, there’s a safe space at Glow Skin for all of us in dire need of a facial — no worries about health and safety, because they’ve got us all covered with safety protocols that are guaranteed to keep us all safe from harm. If you’re planning to set up an appointment with their in-house dermatologists for a much-needed break, here are some tips and tricks to make the experience well worth going out of the house.

Safety first, beauty second

You might be feeling like a facial should be on top of your priority list, but safety always comes first. With Glow Skin’s new booking process, clients will be required to fill out a Health Screening form, to ensure that people coming in and out of the clinic are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. A confirmation message will be sent to you after a doctor confirms that you’re good to go. Easy!

Go cashless

Limiting direct contact with people is a must-do these days, so bringing in cash is a big no-no. Make sure you’re able to use online banking: they accept debit and credit card, GCash and PayMaya.

Relax, everyone is fine

Glow Skin’s staff is geared up and ready so there’s no need to worry about getting up-close and personal during your treatment. Everyone in the clinic wears level 4 PPE and undergoes testing every two weeks, so you can rest assured that your beauty treatments are 100-percent safe.

Treat yourself to an easy-peasy pick-me-up

I got to try Glow Skin’s Skin Soak Facial paired with a Britenol Serum and, boy, was it a treat. As someone who didn’t really give much thought to skincare, it was a non-intimidating experience that’s guaranteed to give anyone some much-needed chill time. The aesthetician’s soothing voice and gentle hands eased away all my anxieties and I almost fell asleep in the middle of it all. I would recommend 11/10.
