MANILA, Philippines - We love to fantasize about spending our summer vacations lounging around the sandy shores of Boracay or Palawan but by the time April and May roll around, we usually find ourselves sprawled on the living room couch, itching to get out of the house. Instead of mindlessly marathoning Game of Thrones or (window) shopping at the nearest mall for the nth time, why not do something more fun and productive? While ballet and bellydance are older forms of dance, zumba is a relatively new fitness routine that combines Latin dances like samba, salsa and mambo with hip-hop and Bollywood dance moves. The art room art workshops

Sponsored by Ayala Museum, these workshops feature four prominent artists in their fields of mastery: Manix Abrera for cartooning, Eileen Escueta for watercolor, Abraham Orobia in for oil painting, and Wilfredo Offemaria Jr. for digital art on the iPad. Each of the four classes are three days long and are spread out across the month of April.

The newborn Leo d’V is a renaissance project that revels in specificity. Best known for blurring the lines between stage and spectator in the bloody Battalia Royale, Sipat Lawin stays true to its collaborative nature with its Workshop Series. Directing Laboratory/Experiment (for ages 18 and up) is a course for aspiring and practicing theater directors that emphasizes on script analysis, production design, and rehearsal and performance techniques while F(L)IGHT CLUB: Actor’s Garage (for ages 16 and up) is a course for amateur and professional actors that focuses on vocal technique, body work and script analysis. Culinary Workshops at Enderun College

At Enderun, kids and teens will have the chance to learn what it takes to become the next Iron Chef. The Mind Museum Summer Programs 2013

Experience science outside the four walls of the classroom this summer with the Mind Museum’s awesome lineup of classes. CSI 101 teaches you the basics of forensic science through a series of workshops while Survival Science lets you experience what it’s like to live in a jungle and even features an overnight camp at JEST Camp Subic. Finally, the Junior Mind Mover Program gives you the chance to be a young resident scientist at the museum itself.
