Ageless Lascuña adds another crown to trophy haul

MANILA, Philippines — Tony Lascuña’s hunger for success remains undiminished.
The five-time Philippine Golf Tour Order of Merit winner added another title to his vast trophy collection on Tuesday, surviving a tense finish to rule the 50-59 age bracket of the Pasay Mayor Emi Cup at Villamor Golf Club.
Lascuña, 55, tallied 38 points under the Stableford Points scoring system to edge Genaro Basijan in the countback and capture the crown in the pro division.
The victory further underscored Lascuña’s enduring form and competitive fire, coming as a timely morale boost as he prepares for the next PGT leg in Cagayan de Oro next week.
Aging Gabo finished third with 36 points, also taking the tiebreak over Ronald Pactolerin.
Former pro tour campaigner Armando Eso topped the Seniors Pro 60-69 division with 38 points, beating Ed Salupeza by two points. Domeng Umadhay, another former PGT mainstay, placed third with 32 points.
Tony Arevalo ruled the 70-and-above Senior Pro division after scoring 33 points, edging Dave Hernandez, who finished with 32.
