MANILA, Philippines — Zark’s Burgers-Lyceum hopes to check its three-game slide as it slugs it out with Go for Gold while University of Perpetual Help and AMA Online Education face off in a duel of lowly teams in the PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao today.

The Jawbreakers, one of the pre-tournament favorites with a core from NCAA finalist Lyceum, are at the lower half of the 12-team field at seventh with a 4-4 card after dropping their last three games. But the Jawbreakers are confident they could bounce back against their Go for Gold rivals.

But at 4-5, Go for Gold also needs a win to bolster its playoff bid, ensuring a slambang encounter at 2 p.m.

CJ Perez and Cameroonian Mike Nzeusseu are again expected to lead the charge for Zark’s, along with Jaycee Marcelino, who is out to atone for his late-game fumble that cost the Jawbreakers a 106-107 overtime setback to Gamboa Coffee Mix-St. Clare last week.

Meanwhile, the Altas, with only two wins to show in seven games, take on the Titans at 12 noon with the former slightly picked to nail their third win against five losses and keep their slim playoff hopes alive.
