Francine Gacrama - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - If party planning isn’t your thing, walk in the smartly-clod shoes of our YStyle woman of the week. Our event planner keeps her bookings tight — from seating arrangements at your frenemy’s wedding to temperature-controlled ice sculptures at a garden luau. She gets the job done, and looks good doing it. With our gal, you’ll only have to worry about choosing the right kind of icing — let’s pencil you in.

She’s dressed in Ellery’s Resort 2016 collection, a crisp white off-shoulder ensemble in Ellery’s tailored signature flare. To match the feminine piece are trousers to dial her back down to the comfort zone. Kym Ellery’s collection is inspired by Anita Pallenberg, a ‘70s rock chick model whose look is all shades of cool just like our YStyle woman. Her hair’s slicked back and her cat eyes are subtle but ultra graphic.

This week’s Look of the Week will have you planning your next appointment with this Ellery-clad gal.

HAIR: Carolina Herrera Fall 2015

If she has difficulty finding time for makeup, then the last thing on her mind would be the kind of hairstyle she’ll be wearing all day. An easy look and a trend seen all over the runway, the low-profile ponytail is her signature look on days where she’s got everything but her hair to think about.

Replicate this look by layering gel from the roots to mid-length. Comb the hair back to a low pony at the nape of the neck and secure with an elastic. Finish off the look by weaving a thin strip of leather around the pony and secure it by tying a small knot behind the elastic.

SHOES: Stella McCartney Velvet Ankle Boots

Because velvet is associated with nobility, it’s a no-brainer that we find ourselves fawning over these McCartney boots. The almond-toe ankle boots are considered a classic despite the full coverage it provides. The 3.5-inch chunky heel provides comfort and at the same time style to any look. With a career that involves more walking than most, these boots are key to looking profesh and helps you keep up with the times.

BAG: Loewe Flamenco Knot Bag

A trend that has proven itself over the last few seasons, the bucket bag is spacious and looks great over the shoulder. With a career that requires multiple gadgets and large agendas, this bag is a sure steal for the woman who needs everything by her side. Although lugging around a full purse doesn’t seem so glamorous, remember that it’s not about what you carry, but how you carry it.

NAILS: House of Holland Fall 2015

The negative nails are a consistent trend seen on the fall 2015 runway and still remain our busy woman’s go-to look. A simple yet chic look, this mani requires no special instructions but to merely tape up parts of your nail that you don’t want to be painted. After applying two coats to the exposed nail, leave to dry then remove the tape to reveal your very own D.I.Y manicure.

WATCH: Cartier Crash Skeleton

A Cartier classic goes edgy and it’s still inspired by one of Salvador Dali’s works entitled “The Persistence of Memory” with a few revisions. This timepiece is a legend and is not as talked about as other popular models like the Tank, the Santos and the Ballon Bleu. The Crash debuted in 1967 and was launched three times with a limited stock. This timepiece in particular has an exclusive quantity of 67 pieces. The industrial theme remains an ode to Dali but the watch itself is a more interesting revision to the Crash due to the fact that it takes longer to finish. The Crash is a platinum statement piece that we’re all obsessed with.

BEAUTY: Stella McCartney Resort 2016

Always finding herself in impromptu situations that require her utmost attention, our YStyle woman usually finds herself pressed for time when it comes to makeup. If it’s a fact that the hydrangeas haven’t arrived or that the host of tonight’s event just cancelled on her, sometimes taking a breather to focus on herself even for five minutes can minimize the pressure — temporarily, at least.

To achieve her look, create a cat eye by drawing two double swooshes on the top and bottom lash line by using Chanel’s Ligne Graphique de Chanel Liquid Eyeliner. The long-lasting liner leaves a glossy shine and proves to be water-resistant for the long day ahead. She keeps her skin nice and clean and adds a highlighter on her cheekbones for a luminous look. Topping it all off, she swirls her NARS Bahama Velvet Matte Lip Pencil on her cheeks and blends away to mimic a version of herself two months ago in Mykonos.

Consider this a fresh and clean look for a long and eventful day ahead.

AGENDA: Louis Vuitton Large Ring Agenda

Want to get things done? Write it down.

The spacious agenda cover features compartments that contain several compartments and credit card slots. This is the ultimate upgrade for your everyday planner and with that price tag it’s worth getting yourself organized. Nothing beats the satisfaction of crossing off a to-do item from your list, even when you’ve still got a long way to go. An agenda helps you be productive and gives you the opportunity to plan ahead of time. A stylish planner on its own, this agenda turns out to be a must-have for our YStyle woman.

SPA: Vivanta by Taj

A far cry from the busy streets of the city, a quaint town in Kerala, India named Bekal is home to one of the world’s most luxurious spas. A fresh and new Ayurvedic retreat, this lush spa practices the 5,000-year-old system of healing through food, herbs, yoga and massage down to the T. With a resident physician on board, rest assured that your stay will be about pampering and decompressing. The hotel and spa is equipped with infinity pools, empty beaches and private villas for that escape you’ve always dreamed of. Considered the biggest spa in any Taj hotel, the treatment rooms are the size of massive studio apartments.

Whether it’s to avail of the three-hour yoga and color therapy or the head massage with curry leaves, be sure to book a round-trip ticket in advance because we’re not so sure you’d want to return home right away after a retreat like this.

MUSE: Yifat Oren

Oren is a Los Angeles-based event planner who’s worked with Anne Hathaway, Natalie Portman, Behati Prinsloo and has been featured in major publications like Vogue, InStyle and Town & Country. With an extensive list of clients, it’s no secret that this planner can bring your vision to life while saving you from the cliché that’s Pinterest. One tough cookie, her time as a wedding planner has taught her how to create exquisite and unforgettable events for both her and the client. With her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to create personalized events, Oren arranges everything from on-site visits down to the choice of flowers.

Yifat Oren has mastered the style, food and technical production of every event possible. It’s no wonder every aspiring events stylist wants to either work with her or be her.

PERFUME: Oud Satin Mood by Maison Francis Kurkdjian

Hit the right note with this oriental woodsy fragrance crafted for both men and women. The perfume features perfectly blended rose absolute from Turkey, rose essence from Bulgaria, benzoin from Siam and Oud wood from Laos. This highly intoxicating concoction lingers for about eight to 10 hours on your skin without having to tuck this into your handbag for a midday spritz. Take advantage of this perfume by spritzing it behind the ears and inside the elbows for an even longer staying power.

SUNGLASSES: Dior Abstract in Bleu Boreal

There’s no better statement piece than Dior’s bright, contrasting lenses. The cutout sunglasses are considered a bold update on this tortoiseshell pattern that plays with volume and masculine/feminine duality. Whether it’s to shield your eyes from the glaring light or just to simply look cool, these sunglasses will definitely leave heads turning.

COFFEE SHOP: Café Central

Our YStyle woman runs on coffee and whenever she finds herself in Austria, trust to find her sipping her favorite espresso in this legendary café that was founded in 1876. During that time, the intellectual scene had most of its meetings here and some of the regulars included: Alfred Adler, Vladimir Lenin, Sigmund Freud and even the infamous Adolf Hitler.

With over 150 years of culture and history, this beautiful building remains to be a favorite among tourists with its grand interior of high ceilings and impeccable service not to mention their excellent coffee.

An institution in Vienna with a long tradition, Café Central is one that you shouldn’t miss out on.
