British tailor T.M. Lewin goes to SM Aura

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines -T.M. Lewin, the affordable London-based luxury shirting brand recently launched its second store in the Philippines at SM Aura Premier, bringing its impeccable style of British tailoring to Manila.

The eponymously named brand was founded by Thomas Mayes Lewin in 1898 on Jermyn Street in St James, London, one of the city’s most historic and fashionable streets known for high-quality British artistry and craftsmanship. Before T.M. Lewin started producing button-down shirts or what they referred to “coat-shirts” during that era, men would pull their shirts over their heads, making T.M. Lewin a pioneer ahead of its time.

Fashions may have changed since 1898 but excellent craftsmanship, quality, service and value remain the driving force behind the T.M. Lewin brand. It continues to use traditional manufacturing techniques devised all those years ago and over a century later, the quality of its business wear remains among the best in the world.

Today, sartorial, timeless, contemporary and effortless are but a few adjectives that describe T.M. Lewin. With a meticulous attention to detail when crafting its products such as the length of a sleeve or the height of a collar, T.M. Lewin sets itself from the rest of the competition. All T.M. Lewin shirts feature fine quality two-fold 100-percent cotton, reinforced buttonholes, a choice of collar shape, two cuff options and up to six different sleeve lengths. Its in-house design team interprets the latest styles in men’s fashion and creates up to 100 exclusive shirt fabric designs for its customers to choose from.

British Ambassador to the Philippine Stephen Lillie and Mark Cowdery,

T.M. Lewin’s head of international operations graced the store’s opening.

“T.M. Lewin has grown into a trusted brand since its first shop opened in London more than a century ago,” said Ambassador Lillie. “Famous for its excellent craftsmanship, it is increasingly in demand globally and I’m really pleased that it is now entering the Philippine market. Its presence here will give Filipinos a wider selection of quality menswear to suit their sartorial needs.”

Mark Dunhill, international director of T.M. Lewin, was excited to be bringing T.M. Lewin to the Philippines in its 120th year. “I am delighted to have secured a partnership with Vogue Concepts Inc., one of the most professional and respected retail operators in the Philippine market. I look forward to working with them to ensure that T.M. Lewin’s high quality, great value, English business wear becomes a favourite with stylish businessmen and women in Manila and beyond.”

T.M. Lewin now has just under 100 stores in the UK, with new stores opening in countries across the rest of the world, including Europe, Singapore, Australia, and now the Philippines.

T.M. Lewin is at the second level of SM Aura Premier.
