The Johnny Awards continues to unfold each year as a cinematic tribute to friendship, legacy, and excellence. Held at the Grand Hyatt Manila in BGC, Taguig City, this year’s ceremony remained true to its purpose of honoring both cherished friends and distinguished public figures whose lives have touched your columnist and inspired many others. Under the artistic direction of Raymond Villanueva, the 2025 edition of the Johnny Awards embraced the visual grandeur of the silver screen, drawing inspiration from the Orient.

Guests were treated to The Emperor-inspired fashion show that mirrored this year’s tribute to the timeless elegance and mystique of the East, and opened with powerful taiko drums and fan dancers, unveiling the first model Cecille Bravo in her Lady Dowager-inspired gown. The mother-and-daughter tandem of Lynn Bautista and Gale Salazar was likewise a showstopper with Chinese umbrellas framing their presence on the ramp.

Exuding elegance and regality, Grace Gobing brought the fashion show to a stunning close. On the other hand, trendsetters Joy Wambangco Rustia of Wamrus Trading and Nikki Tang of DMark Beauty Corporation were scene stealers, whose signature brands sponsored the luxurious giveaways.

Speaking of indulgence, the Emperor and Empress of the Night were radiant couple Joel and Joy Rustia. They received prizes from Skin101 and CWC Interiors.

In its third year, the Johnny Awards stands as a refined endeavor and passion project led by chairperson Marissa Fenton and co-chairperson Roselle Rebano, as a tribute to Johnny Litton and his distinguished influence across media, society, and the events industry. True to its spirit, the affair celebrated excellence alongside striking fashion moments.
