Glamour is back!
New Year’s Eve at Manila House was a scintillating evening that saw the main dining room transformed into a glittering wonderland abloom with white flowers and foliage, and replete with crystal trees and candelabras as table centerpieces.
Enjoying the dinner were former House Speaker Sonny Belmonte, together with his son Kevin Belmonte, daughter-in-law Rose Anne, and grandsons Kirby and Basti, along with former Chief Justice Antonio Carpio and his wife Ruth, as well as Saudi Ambassador Hisham Sultan Abdullah Al-Qathani and his lovely wife, dahlings.
The mouthwatering four-course dinner featured jamón serrano, caviar and blinis, homemade smoked salmon, foie gras, yuzu sorbet, A4 Wagyu streak, and Eton Mess for dessert. Food and Beverage manager Joanne Morania was present to oversee everything. The dinner was made all the more special by the musical entertainment provided by two show-stopping musical performers.
Bernie Pasamba and his orchestra opened the evening with light standards making way for Arman Ferrer’s seductive vocals, followed by the award-winning Bituin Escalante, who performed medleys of Burt Bacharach, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin’s greatest hits. Also present were Doris Magsaysay-Ho, Zelda Kienle, Fortune Ledesma, Bonnae Gokson, Tina Cuevas, star maker Jojie Dingcong and Bobby Cuenca.
Meanwhile, the Avenue Deck overlooking Fifth Avenue in BGC was packed with revelers, who eagerly anticipated the fireworks display prepared by the Taguig LGU.
At 12 midnight, everyone welcomed 2023, celebratory champagne glass in hand, and looked up to the sky, which was rocked with the most dazzling pyrotechnics.
After three years of pandemic restrictions, the New Year was greeted with joyous cheers and tons of hope, palanggas.
