MANILA, Philippines — Alongside reel and real-life love interest Kathryn Bernardo, Kapamilya actor Daniel Padilla broke his silence on the ABS-CBN shutdown issue, saying that instead of fighting as one against the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, Filipinos are divided because of different opinions.

In his Instagram account, Daniel posted a video of his statement, captioning it with “#LabanKapamilya.”

Daniel was also saddened with what happened to other ABS-CBN celebrities who got bashed for speaking their minds for their home network.

Apart from respecting each other's opinion, Daniel also asked the public to be sensitive to those who lost their jobs due to the shutdown.

The “The Hows of Us” star also has a message to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), which issued the cease and desist order to stop the network from broadcasting on-air.

The matinee idol also has a message for his fellowmen.

Mas mainim pa ang maging bulag kaysa sa nagbubulag-bulagan,” he said.

He ended his video with “Daniel Padilla po, tao, Pilipino. Laban, Kapamilya.”
