Millennial Adam Klein wins Survivor

MANILA, Philippines – Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X, the 33rd season of the Emmy Award-winning reality show, concluded recently with the energetic Adam Klein winning over fellow castaways Hannah Shapiro and Ken McKnickle in the finals.

Twenty-five-year-old Adam from San Francisco, California, proved he was more of a power player, so he turned out to be the champion, besting Hannah, a Millennial bartender from West Hollywood, California and Ken, a Gen X model from Denver, Colorado.

The jury gave an overwhelming 10-0-0 score in favor of Adam, who was proclaimed Sole Survivor and won the much-coveted $1M grand prize. The three-hour finale was held at the Los Angeles studio, where the Castaways convened with Adam, Ken and Hannah doing a recap of the 33rd season.

A member of the Millennials tribe, Adam made it clear much later in the game that he was playing for his sick mom who was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. That obviously gave him the edge in getting solid votes from the jury. Sadly, his mother died early this year, after the castaways finished taping.

Twenty new castaways were initially divided into two tribes in this season’s location, Mamanuca Islands, Fiji. Those born between 1984 and 1997 comprised the Vanua Tribe (Millennials team), while those born between 1963 and 1982 were with the Takali Tribe (Gen X team).

After Michaela Bradshaw became the seventh person eliminated on Day 20, the tribes merged into one, Vinuka. There were six players who went into the finale — three from Millennials and three from Gen X.

The Millennials team included 27-year-old real estate agent Jay Starrett, while the two others from Gen X team were 42-year-old police sergeant Bret LaBelle and 42-year-old TV writer David Wright.

Hosted by Jeff Probst, Survivor: Millennials vs Gen X aired on Jack TV. In March, Survivor: Game Changers will be seen, taking the series back to Fiji. It will feature previous players who are best remembered for their spunk and determination to compete.
