Sexy Talk with Cesar Montano

To usher back the action genre, Cesar Montano said that he prepared himself thoroughly before he started shooting Hitman which he himself produced and stars in (released by Viva Films nationwide starting on Wednesday, Feb. 22).

“I have to match the beautiful body of my leading lady,” added Cesar, referring to Sam Pinto, one-time FHM’s sexiest cover girl. “Nag-work out ako at nag-diet.”

In Hitman, featuring an all-star-cast (that includes Phillip Salvador as the main villain, Ricky Davao, Mark Herras, Joko Diaz, Cesar’s brother Rommel Montano and Cesar’s son Diego Loyzaga), Cesar plays the title character out to kill Sam as a popular print model. But unlike in Mr. & Mrs. Smith (where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s characters are hired to kill each other and end up loving each other), Sam’s character doesn’t intend to kill Cesar’s character.

Up next for Cesar is a film titled Getting To America with Hollywood as target market, with himself directing and starring in it and co-writing the screenplay with Donald Martin (who has written screenplays for Hollywood actors including Al Pacino).

Cesar and his wife Sunshine Cruz have just come back from New York where, according to a Funfare DPA, he auditioned for a Hollywood film. If ever, it will be his second Hollywood outing after The Great Raid where Sam Worthington played a “supporting” role; that was before he became an overnight star in Cameron Crowe’s Avatar. (In an interview with The STAR, Worthington said half in jest, “I envied Cesar because he played a bigger role,” as a Filipino guerilla. “I wish I played a similar role.”)
