MANILA, Philippines — It’s couture season this week on the fashion calendar. And one of the most talked-about shows of the week is that of Claire Waight Keller’s second couture show for the house of Givenchy. Fresh from dressing up the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle for the recent royal wedding, Waight Keller paid tribute to the house’s founder Hubert de Givenchy himself who passed away early this year.
Monsieur Givenchy is considered as one the first designers to dress up celebrities. His relationship with his most famous muse, Audrey Hepburn, is perhaps one of the most iconic moments in fashion history. Dressing her up for her role in Breakfast at Tiffany’s has been a source of inspiration to many.
Claire Waight Keller interpreted the infamous LBD from the movie for the finale look of the show. The updated version had a hoodie replacing the multiple strands of pearls that Hepburn wore.

The Breakfast at Tiffany’s author is without a doubt one of the great novelists of the twentieth century. His first book Summer Crossing is set in New York just after World War II. The story follows a young carefree socialite, Grady McNeil, whose parents leave her alone in their Fifth Avenue penthouse for the summer. The book was supposed to be adapted for film and directed by actress Scarlett Johansson years ago. It went into development but never pushed through with production.

Jewelry: Elsa Peretti for Tiffany
Model and renowned jewelry designer Elsa Peretti has been designing for Tiffany for almost four decades. Known to be Halston’s muse, Peretti was a style icon in the ’70s and is famous for her minimalist design. Her “bone cuff” has been worn by the likes of Liza Minnelli and Sophia Loren. Perfume: Spring Flower by Creed
With base notes of white musk and ambergris, this fruity floral perfume was created for Audrey Hepburn in the mid ’80s and was her signature scent until her death in 1993. Creed did not release it to the public until 1996, a few years after she passed away.
