Loony over Lalaine

Lalaine – this name used to remind us of Miranda Sanchez of Lizzie McGuire, but not anymore! Now we know her as a very popular girl who’s well known, not just because she’s an actress/singer/songwriter, but because she’s really proud to be a Filipino!
Lalaine says she likes just about anything, except the color pink. Her favorite colors are blue and yellow. Her hobbies are watching Friends, basketball and football. She loves adobo and sinigang. She started acting at nine years old. She is 17 years old and has been living in LA for the past 12 years (she lived in the Philippines for five years but she was born in the US). She starred as Eponine in the broadway play Les Miz and has been in the movie entitled You Wish (and has recorded the You Wish song); and of course, in the Disney series Lizzie McGuire (as the character Miranda Sanchez), and she may be seen on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (as Chloe). Soon she may be seen on the Living Asia Channel with a show entitled Flip Side (a co-production with Sari-Sari store), currently being shot in the Philippines and will be shown in October.
For her fans, Lalaine is going to have a Fan’s Day in three different Sari-Sari Store outlets (not the sari-sari stores at the kanto) on August 21 and 22. We are hoping that she’ll design clothes that can be sold in Sari-Sari.
Lalaine is more than just a singer and actress. Even though she plays a Latin American in the Lizzie McGuire show, she wants t be known as a Filipino. We believe that Lalaine can serve as our role model. This is the main reason why most Filipinos practically go loony over Lalaine.
