Mac nurtures the next-gen artists

-

MANILA, Philippines - Gone are the days when children play only with dolls or action figures. Technology has changed the way kids play.

At the top of the list of the devices that the techie-kids generation loves are the Macs where they not only enjoy the games and apps, but also Mac programs which allow them to express their creativity.

So, nurture the next Steven Spielberg or Taylor Swift by having your kids acquire or hone their Mac skills.

At the Power Mac Center (PMC) Summer Kids Mac Training Program, kids will learn the fundamentals of game development using GameSalad, film-making using iMovie, 3-dimensional modeling, 3D graphics and animation using SketchUp and Adobe Flash CS5, music creation using GarageBand, website making using iWeb, DVD creation using iDVD and photo editing using Photoshop.

Now on its third year, the training program is a fun techie summer treat from Power Mac Center, a chain of reliable retail shops and service providers of Apple products and premium accessories in the country. Kids aged 7 to 12 are invited to participate and enhance their skills in Mac’s arsenal of digital tools while being mentored by Power Mac Center trainers.

Power Mac Center teaches game development, filmmaking, 3D graphics and animation, music creation and other exciting Mac applications.

According to Power Mac Center marketing manager Joey Alvarez, “The Summer Kids Workshop is an excellent venue for kids to express their creativity and bring their imagination to life using different fun Mac programs and applications.”

“After all,” he added, “Apple products like kid-friendly Macs inspire creativity from all ages.”

Course fee is at P500 per topic. The workshops will be held at the Power Mac Center store at SM North EDSA Annex from May 2 to 13. Each session lasts for an hour and a half and participants have an option between the morning and afternoon classes.

Interested participants can e-mail summerkidz@powermaccenter.com to inquire and register into the program. For information about the workshop as well as updates on new promos and events, visit the Power Mac Center site at www.powermaccenter.com.
