A new face for Bum: Bea Binene

-

MANILA, Philippines - Bum, one of the leading brands in apparel made for young fashionistas, introduces an addition to its hip and young endorsers: Bea Binene. Slowly creating a name in the entertainment industry, this 13-year-old Star Struck Kids alumna has already captured a wide base of followers not only for her acting prowess but also for her unique sense of fashion. As most girls her age would prefer wearing girly pastels and splashes of colors, Bea opts to go the unexpected route.

“I call it kick ass cutie,”she says, referring to her fashion style, which is uniquely Bum: predominantly black with touches of Goth designs, nicely balanced with softer details. Bea is every inch a fashionista, donning everything that Bum is.

This preference for Goth translates even to her other fashion must-haves: black eyeliner, black nail paint, big black bags, etc. Bea admits, “I’m not really into dresses, unless needed for a show. On a normal day, I’m more into pants, jeans, leggings. Anything black, white and gray. Dark, emo. My fashion pegs are Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez.”

Bea Binene has just finished her role as Blade, a sword-skilled heroine on GMA-7’s fanstaserye Captain Barbell. Off cam, she’s a wushu artist (Chinese martial arts involving fluid stances, kicks and jumps).  In fact, Bea has won a bronze medal in the National Wushu Championships for the san lu quan division/category. She is also one of the mainstays of the popular teenage show and movie Tween Hearts.

Whether it’s a blouse, tee, jeans, skirts, or shorts,, Bum is a reflection of Bea’s flair for fashion. Ecstatic about the brand, she says, “I love the entire line. I love the style.”

Bea Binene’s goth it in her: “I call it kick ass cutie,”she says, referring to her fashion style, which is uniquely Bum.
