SM City Baliwag opens today
All roads lead to Baliwag when SM City Baliwag, SM Prime Holdings’ 33rd supermall opens its doors to the public today.
Located at DRT Highway beside Prominenza Barangay Pagala, the 55,000- square-meter mall will bring SM’s shopping, leisure and entertainment excitement to this part of Bulacan. It is SM’s second mall in the province, the first being SM City Marilao, which opened in 2003.
Baliwag was founded by Augustinian friars in 1732 and incorporated by the Spanish Governor General in 1773. Rich in history, it was the place where the first election in the Far East took place in 1899, and is famous for its Holy Week processions of carrozas and life-size santos.
Today, Baliwag is a bustling first-class municipality with furniture, garments, house ware and decor, and pyrotechnics as its major industries. It is also known for its bakeries and native delicacies.
The town is known for offering the best private education in the area, where its famous and established institutions have students from as far as Pampanga to the south, Norzagaray to the north, Gapan to the west, and Calumpit to the east. It is also a transportation hub, offering easy access to Pampanga and Nueva Ecija.
The two-level shopping mall will have the SM Department Store and the SM Hypermarket as its main anchors. It will also showcase SM mainstays like SM Appliance Center, ACE Hardware, Watsons, as well as fashion boutiques, shoe stores, bookstores, home stores, jewelry stores, and novelty stores. It will have computer stores for the techie generation and service shops for customer convenience.
Families will have fun eating out at the mall’s food court, international and local fast food chains, and restaurants. It will have four state-of-the-art cinemas.
SM City Baliwag’s festive design celebrates shopping and fun just in time for the Christmas season. The facade has an EIFS cladding finish and glazed storefronts. A play on color and lights on the interiors will delight shoppers as they move around the mall.
