Philmar Alipayo undergoes medical procedure for heart
MANILA, Philippines — Champion surfer and Andi Eigenmann's fiance Philmar Alipayo underwent Transesophageal Echocardiogram to check his heart.
According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, "Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) uses echocardiography to assess the structure and function of the heart. During the procedure, a transducer (like a microphone) sends out ultrasonic sound waves.
"When the transducer is placed at certain locations and angles, the ultrasonic sound waves move through the skin and other body tissues to the heart tissues, where the waves bounce or 'echo' off of the heart structures. The transducer picks up the reflected waves and sends them to a computer. The computer displays the echoes as images of the heart walls and valves."
In her Instagram story, Andi posted photos of Philmar's medical procedure.
“Well wishes for Papa [Philmar] as he goes under a Transesophageal Echocardiogram procedure today (to relieve a bit of difficulty he has been experiencing from a congenital heart defect),” Andi said.
“Hopefully he will be back to his [100 percent] soon after,” she added.
Andi then posted Philmar's medical result, which turned out to be fine.
Philmar, meanwhile, thanked Andi and the people who prayed for him.
“Salamat karajaw mahal ko na ini kaw permi nag soporta sa tapad nako. I love you so much @andieigengirl," he said.
Andi recently announced that her wedding with Philmar this year will be postponed due to her mom Jaclyn Jose's death.
