Food that heals

FROM THE HEART - Gina Lopez - The Philippine Star

A few years back, I had the blessing of meeting Dr. Albert Jo, a doctor who was once beset with ailments and then cured himself through nutrition, not chemical medication. He was so successful and moved by his continuous experience that he set up Rapha, a spa in Bacolod where he serves delicious nutritional food and directs you to the path of healing.

I have been dealing with Albert for the past three years now. He is the most entertaining speaker. The unique facet of Dr. Jo is that he is a doctor, a nutritionist, and he is also a chef! He loves to cook and he is very creative! So, on June 25, he and my cook Ming will be concocting amazing dishes — but all with a view to healing. He will give a talk and I highly suggest you attend the event.

This will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon of June 25 at Luna Gardens in Rockwell. The cost is P1,500 per meal. We will be introducing to you our newest yummy specialties from G Stuff — our latest being coconut milk ice cream! No white sugar, non-dairy , gluten-free, white sugar-free... And super yummy!!! Like 10 out of 10 — from almost anyone who has tried it. Our chocolate flavor even has essential oils!

My passion, as you know, is health and wellness. And my newest direction is doing “biotica gardening.”  Albert will let you know what you can plant in your garden — so that for any ailment, you can just eat from the garden instead of going to the drug store! And you can eat from the garden daily as I do to keep your immune system up.

We are doing this  in the rural areas. But one can also do it in the city. If you don’t have land, you can grow herbs in pots. When there is a will, there is a way.

Here are pictures of the effect of our G Stuff garden mixture. This happened in Puerto Princesa after only seven days! Before Rune’s technology, harvests were small, bitter, and not vibrant. They only earned P19,600. Now, harvests are bigger, sweeter, and more vibrant! They have tripled their income to P59,000.

You can also use this in your house. It’s not expensive and we are now carrying it at G Stuff.

Nutrition is soooo important for health.  It’s so much cheaper and so much healthier than taking pharmaceuticals. This week, I was talking to Dr. Jo and he was relating the story of this lady whose cancer went from Stage 4 to Stage 1 by taking turmeric (the juice, not the powder) daily! I do it myself every morning. My experience is it kick starts one’s immune system  Dr. Jo also speaks elatedly about guyabano fruit — that it is equivalent to the most potent  chemotherapy.  All these can be taken whether you are sick or not.

Last month, I talked to two friends who were able to overcome the big C through the Gerson Anti-Cancer Therapy, which is drinking 14 glasses of fresh juice daily. One friend had Stage 3 cancer and the Gerson was all she did. Feels so much more healing than the infusion of chemicals into our system, no?

The power of nature is all around us. The world is so beautiful and God has so blessed us with resources. We just need to know how to use them.

In closing, let me cite the importance of exercise. Just recently, I have started exercising twice a day — just 15 minutes. It’s done wonders for my energy level. I do cardio and weights. My experience is the weightlifting is  good for will power because of the energy required to go through the discomfort. Oprah said it has to hurt a little — that’s when one builds muscle. (Hmmm, that even sounds like a prescription for life!)

Take on life.  And know that divine forces are there to help you every step of the way.
