Angelo Comsti’s ‘The Filipino Family Cookbook’ now available in National Book Store

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - From the author of the bestselling book From Our Table to Yours, comes a collection of dishes that are deeply rooted in the culture and history of the Philippines—The Filipino Family Cookbook. Angelo Comsti launches his new cookbook that takes readers into the kitchen, the heart of every household, where most delicious memories are made. This treasury of memories has been passed down from generation to generation, and is made richer and more flavorful with the passing of time. The book contains more than 50 unpublished family recipes from some of the Philippines’ favorite food personalities, personal photos and short stories that accompany each recipe detailing the history and unique charm of each dish, and clear and concise step-by-step instructions with tips and advice for food preparation.

Together with food historian Felice Prudente Sta. Maria, restaurateurs Robby Goco and Gaita Fores, notable writers Nana Ozaeta and Jin Perez, and 35 other prominent figures in the local food industry, Angelo gathers time-honored dishes that hail from the various regions of the country and presents the richness of Filipino cuisine.

Angelo Comsti is the author of the bestselling cookbook From Our Table to Yours, in which he journeys back through time as he gathers and shares heirloom recipes and family memories from some of the Philippines’ most beloved foodies. He graduated with a degree in professional culinary studies at Le Cordon Bleu in Sydney, Australia, and has long been working with food. He is a food writer for television and various print and digital periodicals and a food and prop stylist for magazines, print ads, billboards, restaurant menus and cookbooks. He also has a regular FM radio spot called Radio Brunch on Manila’s Wave 89.1 where he talks about all things food. He is the co-author of Home-made for the Holidays, a primer on how to make Christmas creations to spoil guests and loved ones. Occasionally, he develops recipes for corporate clients and food magazines as well as holds cooking demonstrations.

The Filipino Family Cookbook: Recipes and Family Memories from our Home Kitchen is exclusively available for P845 at National Book Store and Powerbooks.
