MANILA, Philippines - Committed to empowering the modern Filipina, Kotex provides innovative opportunities for women to make informed choices and express their femininity.
Kotex partnered with the masters of feminine style Love, Bayo and SoFA (School of Fashion and the Arts), gave seven of SoFA’s best students the opportunity to create a collection for the “Love, Bayo,” a sub-brand of Bayo specifically targeted to the younger market to be sold in Bayo stores nationwide.
In the first SoFA Young Designer for Bayo Design Competition, the designers were instructed to create a collection with the theme “modern fairytale.” Judges were SoFa owner/bag designer and columnist Amina Aranaz-Alunan, Heima Store creative director Rossy Yabut, Bayo founders Lynn Agustin and Yvette Lejano, and stylist Jenni Epperson. The winner of the competition was 18-year-old Korean Sylvia Park whose floral and lace collection was inspired by her favorite novel, Anne of Green Gables. Like the kind of woman Kotex represents, the story’s protagonist Anne is an active, self-assured and uncompromising young woman on the go.
Recognizing that women today are increasingly active, savvy, and fashionable, Kotex has risen to the occasion by developing the Kotex ProActive Guards Technology, the first sanitary pad that comes with intelligent guards that gently rise as soon as they come in contact with fluid. This incredible technology frees the modern and empowered Filipina to live and move as she pleases — even on the runway.
M Café was transformed into a modern fairytale haven as Kotex and Love, Bayo presented Sylvia Park’s collection to the public. Her pieces represented the style of the Love,Bayo fashionista, as well as the empowered Kotex woman.
