How to feel great naturally

BETWEEN YOU & ME - BETWEEN YOU & ME By Jacquilou Blanco -
I’ve discovered still so many ways to feel good naturally. They don’t cost anything yet give us that extra energy and boost we so often need.

Bring nuts and dried fruits as a snack. Cashews, walnuts, dates, dried banana chips or papaya or langka. The healthy fats and fiber in these snacks will sustain you longer than a sugary candy bar.

Sip Basil Tea. I read in one health magazine that basil is one of nature’s most effective calmatives, yet it is often overlooked because it is such a commonly used kitchen spice. Try this: Place three washed basil leaves in a cup of water. Steep for about 10 minutes and inhale the aroma, then sip the tea slowly. It has such a calming effect.

Walk with your bare feet on dewy grass. They say and I believe that when our feet are relaxed, our body is, too. Whenever I have my feet massaged, I fall asleep. My whole body relaxes, too. However if you don’t have time for a massage, try walking with your bare feet on wet grass. It will definitely relax you.

Take a brisk five-to 10-minute walk. Research shows that a 10-minute walk will raise your energy levels for up to two hours and reduce tension for up to an hour.

Unwind your mind naturally. Whenever I am tired, whether at home or during a taping session, I lie on the floor, my arms on the sides, feet slightly apart and close my eyes. Inhale and exhale as you tense and release you muscles one at a time, starting with your toes, moving up to the top of your head. It will calm you and energize you as well.

Keep in touch with loved ones. Make an effort to reach out and connect with family and friends. You’ll be happier if you develop loving, supportive relationship.

Hang your head. I do this as part of my stretches. Sit on a chair, feet hip-width apart, let your head and arms hang toward the floor. Feel the stretch. Take deep breaths and then slowly lift yourself up. I feel rejuvenated after I do this. Try it.

Exfoliate with sugar or salt. No need for expensive exfoliants. I first put some mineral or baby oil on my body, and then get sugar or salt and use it to scrub my body. This motion will wake up your body by stimulating circulation.

Recharge with a yoga foot massage. Just the other day while lying down, I did this to my tired feet. Lie on your back with your arms at your sides, palms up, your knees bent, and your bare feet flat on the floor. Keeping your knees off the ground, press the soles of your feet together and rub them against each other for 30 seconds or more, or you can also press them against each other. It’s invigorating.

Show yourself some love. When you feel low or not all together, try making a list of good things you do. We do need to boost ourselves first so we are able to extend that love.

Feel great naturally!
