Developing the child's multiple intelligence through Insular Life I-Excel education plan

-

Psychologist Howard Garner created the theory of multiple intelligence in 1983. The theory suggests that there are different arrays of intelligence: linguistic, logical-mathematical, musical, spatial, bodily kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic. Each individual manifests varying levels of intelligence, bringing forth individuality and uniqueness.

The introduction of the multiple intelligence theory resulted in changes in the school curriculum, its learning tools, the teachers’ and the parents’ teaching techniques, and understanding of the learning needs of the child.

Because Insular Life is steadfast in understanding the needs of every Filipino child, its new education plan, I-Excel, gives attention to honing these different intelligences. Aside from the guaranteed cash benefit that supplements tuition, projects and book expenses, and the insurance coverage, I-Excel offers different learning venues through Insular Life’s “Extra Special Policyholders” (ESP) program.

I-Excel policyholders with a minimum annual premium of P100,000 are automatically ESPs. As such, the child is entitled to receive special privileges like discounts and freebies from its merchant partners that would serve as the parent’s opportunity to develop his child’s various skills and hone his inclinations.

Currently, I-Excel has sealed partnerships with Toddlers Unlimited, Yamaha School of Music, and World of Fun. Toddlers Unlimited is a preschool that aims to develop the totality of the child. It has branches at Festival Mall, Alabang and Rockwell, Makati. Yamaha School of Music, a school that hones the music skills of the young and adults, has several branches in Metro Manila and various malls nationwide. World of Fun, located at SM malls nationwide and other provincial shopping centers such as LCC in Bicol and Gaisano in Roxas and Davao, provides fun and excitement to kids through computer games and rides.

As part of its share in uplifting the education of the Filipino children, Insular Life will donate P1 for every P1,000 premium paid by the policyholder for his I-Excel plan, to finance the educational programs of the Insular Life Foundation (ILF). Among ILF’s programs are: College Scholarship Grant and Adopt-A-School Program/Adopt-A-Scholar Program. These are some programs that aim to provide quality education.

I-Excel offers superior benefits such as increasing College Education Benefits; Supplemental Educational Allowance for thesis, practicum, and project expenses; and Protection Cash Benefit. It also gives insurance protection for the child and the policyholder. Upholding academic excellence, I-Excel rewards and motivates the children to do well in school by granting the Scholastic Achievement Award and the Topnotcher Benefit.

Indeed, I-EXCEL is a parent’s partner in making the child the best that he can be.
