What to expect at ‘SANDALI: The Cup of Joe Festival’

With the summer heat rolling in, they are coming in with a splash. OPM band Cup of Joe is set to take on their fourth major concert at the Philippine Sports Stadium on May 23 with “SANDALI: The Cup of Joe Festival.”
Cup of Joe becomes the first Filipino act to headline a solo concert at the stadium, positioning the event as a milestone as the band enters its long-anticipated “stadium era.”
“Super excited, dami naming gustong gawin. Feeling namin ito na yung time na ibuhos yung artistry namin sa concert na ito. Yung ganitong venue, hindi siya biro. (It’s) another milestone. Super pinaghandaan namin every detail sa concert na ito,” CJ shared during a presscon at the Viva Cafe.
Compared to their previous concerts “Silakbo” and “Stardusk,” which followed certain storylines, the band members shared that this time they will focus more on a celebratory theme for their fans, especially those who have supported them since their early days performing in bars and cafés.
“This concert is not just for us — it’s for everyone who supported us through the years. We want to show them how much we appreciate the love and support,” Rapha said.
“It is a rewarding feeling na i-dedicate yung biggest ever stage namin to those who have been there ever since we started in small venues,” Gian added.
In terms of what to expect, the festival will feature solo performances from each member based on their song Sandali, along with new arrangements of their previous songs, making the experience only exclusive to the festival.
The band is also set to bring back their sub units, Pink Soda and Pink Penoy Club, both set to debut new performances.

In addition, surprise guest artists are expected to join the festival, one of them being the Filipino rock band Kamikazee.
A new EP titled “Sandali” is also said to be released before the concert and expected to be played during the festival.
Beyond the music, the band is encouraging all those coming to fully embrace the festival atmosphere, calling fans to wear Coachella-inspired summer outfits that are comfortable yet chic with blue and orange as the suggested color palette to match the upcoming EP and show’s visuals.
The festival is expected to run for three hours, packed with performances, fireworks and water cannons all creating a splash of a high-energy, immersive experience that fans are encouraged not to miss.
Considering the summer weather, the members of the band also shared that the schedule has been adjusted to accommodate fans. The concert is set to start at 9 p.m., with a 6:30 p.m. soundcheck for splash zone ticket holders. Reminders for the concert will be posted prior to the event.
Fans may begin queuing as early as 5 p.m., with a new queuing system based on the timestamp of ticket purchase.
No live stream will be available, making the experience fully exclusive to those who attend.
With all these elements coming together, the “SANDALI: The Cup of Joe Festival” is shaping up to be more than just a concert but it is a defining moment for both Cup of Joe and the OPM scene.
As the band takes on their biggest stage yet, they are not just performing, they are also making history.
Cup of Joe is known for hit songs, including Multo, one of the most-streamed OPM songs to date, with other hits such as Tingin and Estrangero.
