From singing Kapuso official soundtracks, GMA Music artist Hannah Precillas now presents her first single titled Kung Walang Ikaw, composed by Vehnee Saturno

MANILA, Philippines — Followers of the Kapuso drama series are certainly familiar with her voice but only a few know that it is Hannah Precillas who they are listening to whenever dramaserye theme songs are repeatedly playing in the background of such shows as Onanay, Kambal, Karibal, Hindi Ko Kayang Iwan Ka and Kapag Nahati Ang Puso.

For those not in the know, Hannah was named the grand winner of Bet ng Bayan, one of GMA 7’s talent searches aired five years ago. Since then, Hannah became a resident singer of Kapuso OSTs (official soundtracks) and, eventually, signed with GMA Music as one of its contract artists in October. The singing lass from Bohol is taking her craft to the next level with the release of her debut single titled Kung Walang Ikaw.

During the single launch cum pocket interview held recently, Hannah revealed her family is her greatest inspiration and one of her goals is to acquire a house and lot or a condo for her loved ones. At present, she is renting a place in Cubao with them.

“We had a house and lot in Bohol but due to life’s challenging phase, our property was sold in order for us siblings to go to school. ‘Pag umuuwi kami ng probinsya, nakiki-stay lang kami sa house ng lola at tita ko,” she said.

Hannah is equally proud that she was able to purchase the car she is driving now. “It’s a Wigo that I use in going to gigs, tipid sa gas at bagay sa akin kasi maliit lang din ako. Maybe this coming May or June is the turnover of my condo unit. Although it’s not that big, at least magkakaroon na ako ng property na p’wede ko din ipa-rent once I already got a house and lot.”

Hannah said her mom served as her vocal coach who used to practice and exercise her vocal cords by singing with her. “Every morning, pumupunta kami sa dagat. Nahihiya ako noon kasi yung mga tao naririnig ako. They would tell me not to be ashamed of what my mom and I were doing. And then we would practice every day and it even came to a point that I cried because I wanted to go to school but my mom wanted me to practice before going to school.”

Kung Wala Ka Na, composed by Vehnee Saturno, was chosen as the theme song of Hiram Na Anak. The song is an emotional track about love and the promises that come with it.

Hannah also recorded one of the theme songs of GMA’s upcoming primetime series, Love You Two.

(Kung Wala Ka Na is now available on iTunes and Spotify.)
