Kris gives tips to aspiring entrepreneurs

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Kris Aquino shared to aspiring entrepreneurs some tips on how to run a business well.

Speaking at the 6th Go Negosyo Filipina Entrepreneurship Summit Friday morning, March 7, Kris said her late mother, former President and democracy icon Corazon Aquino, used to teach her some lessons in entrepreneurship.

"Sinabi ng mom ko, 'you show up for work every day. You show up no matter gaano kapuyat ka, gaano kapagod ka, anuman ang pinagdadaanan mo sa personal na buhay, dadating ka. That's already 80 percent of the battle," she recalled.

Then she continued saying her mom taught her to "treat the people well." She cited as an example her staff in the morning show "Kris TV" and in the late-night talk show "Aquino & Abunda" whom she has worked with since 1999.

"When you get along with people you work with and give them affirmation, sumisipag sila," she emphasized.

"Eventually, lahat kayo alam ko magkakaro'n ng empleyado. So alam ko kailangan ipasok ninyo sa sarili ninyo na kailangan inaangat ninyo sila. Kasi kapag inaangat mo sila kayong lahat aangat."

The last tip that Kris shared is to "have a purpose." She then said to the crowd that her personal "purpose" in life is her two sons, Josh and Bimby.

"Ako, suwerte ako na may inuuwian ako na dalawa na nagbibigay sa akin ng lakas araw-araw," she explained

Additionally, Kris encouraged everyone to travel often.

"Travel is something you have to get in to," she said. "The Philippines is such a beautiful destination. Ang daming trabaho na naghihintay sa inyo when you go to the hotel, restaurant and of course tourism industry."
