Warner Bros. makes presence felt in the Phl through PLS

MANILA, Philippines - Warner Bros. Consumer Products is home to Looney Tunes characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweety and Tasmanian Devil, to name a few. It also owns DC Comics with popular characters, namely: Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. Similarly, Warner Bros. Consumer Products is known for its outstanding movie releases — its most recent release being Green Lantern (photo).

To promote the exceptional product line-up, Warner Bros. Consumer Products tapped the services of Pacific Licensing Studio Pte. Ltd. (PLS). PLS is a licensing and brand management company with headquarters in Singapore and a recently-opened office in Manila.

The importance of a licensing company such as PLS is underscored not only in terms of market gains of different products but also in the protection of a brand’s intellectual property rights.   PLS also serves as the link between the creator or owner of a product and any entity that wishes to use the said product in marketing or any other commercial purpose.   

This month, PLS has its hands full promoting DC Comics, specifically the upcoming movie, Green Lantern. On June 18 and 19, Warner Bros. Consumer Products will showcase DC Comics merchandise at the lower ground floor Event Center in SM Megamall, in Mandaluyong City. 

DC Comics is best known as the home of the world’s most famous superheroes characters such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern, among others. Since its inception in 1934, DC Comics has developed into an industry leader and has continued to be one of the largest and most diverse publishers of comic book adventures. It is the only comic book publisher internationally selling over five million comics per month through more than 100 licensed publishers in 75 countries.

DC Comics characters have inspired blockbuster movies, classic television shows, engaging video games, exciting theme park attractions, and an array of consumer products for fans of all ages, worldwide. These are the characters that have shaped our notion of heroes, and created a modern mythology for every generation, across all media.

Its latest offering, Green Lantern, is bannered by Hal Jordan, a fighter pilot who gets enlisted into an intergalactic peacekeeping corps and protects Earth from enemies at home and abroad as Green Lantern. He is the greatest member of the Green Lantern Corps and founder of The Justice League of America with The Flash and Aquaman.

Hal Jordan is played by Ryan Reynolds with Blake Lively (previously from Gossip Girl) as his love interest, Carrol Ferris. Also in the movie are Mark Strong, Peter Saarsgard, Tim Robbins and many more. Green Lantern is directed by Martin Campbell and produced by Donald de Line.

You have Been Chosen! event, organized by PLS, will allow DC Comics fans to enjoy a whole day of activities with their favorite DC Comics Super Heroes characters.

The Green Lantern movie will open across the Philippines on June 16 in 3D, 2D and regular format, Green Lantern will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
