MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has logged over a million registrants in its new Land Transportation Management System (LTMS) that now lets its clients conduct their transactions online via its portal found on portal.lto.gov.ph.

In a ceremony held earlier this week at the LTO headquarters in Diliman, Quezon City, LTO assistant secretary Edgar Galvante recognized Laguna resident Samantha Marie Lagrada as the one millionth client of the LTMS that leading German technology provider Dermalog built for the government agency.

On behalf of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, Asec. Galvante marked the milestone as he said the LTO was on track to provide online services to drivers’ license and vehicle registration clients.

Galvante said the LTMS is a cornerstone of the LTO’s five-year IT modernization program to make the agency more efficient and give its clients all the convenience of online service.

“As part of the LTO’s digital transformation, the LTMS portal will give online service 24/7, allows transactions anytime and anywhere, is customer-centered, seamless with virtually no human intervention allowed, and paperless. It is a powerful tool for our clients to use as they need it and wherever it is convenient,” said Galvante.

Moving forward, LTO clients are advised to create their own accounts at the LTO portal to avail of all LTO services. Aside from being more convenient to the public as clients can now input their information and submit required materials online, LTMS streamlines and safeguards all data submitted and helps prevent intervention by fixers.

Galvante said aside from tutorials found on the LTMS portal, the public can easily learn to use the portal with videos the agency produced that are found in the LTO’s Facebook page and LTO website and other outlets.
