Big field in LGBA derby today

MANILA, Philippines — Finalists from the first leg of the 2019 Luzon Gamecock Breeders Association Breeder of Year derby circuit gird up for battle at the Pasay City Cockpit beginning at 10 a.m. today.

Qualifiers (73 with 2 points and 18 with 1.5 points) clash in the 4-stag finale presented by Sagupaan Superfeeds and Complexor 3000. Those with 3 and 2.5 points will have their final round on Friday.

LGBA president Nick Crisostomo said scores in the first leg are crucial in the 2019 BOY race, and the top 10 winners will be announced on Oct. 28.

Among the two pointers are Biboy Enriquez (two entries), Raymond Velayo, Robert del Rosario (three entries), Jimmy Junsay, Mapher Alvarez, Borgy Zoleta, Rey Tolentino, Jeffrey and Aylwin Sy, Jay Gonzalez, Willard Ty, Mark Calixto, Boy Gamilla, Mark Lim, Jun Sevilla, Joel Ocsena, Custer Tiu, Vic Belangel, Larry Villacorte, Jess Mateo, Charlie Cruz, Jervy Maglunob, Noel Cosico, Hector Magpantay, Ed Gonzales, Dennis Espino, Zaldy Austria, Boy Tanyag, vice mayor Anthony Marasigan, Armin Silva, Eric Malabanan and Jojo Sicat.
