3 Abus arrested in Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Three Abu Sayyaf bandits were arrested after an encounter with soldiers in Barangay Maligay, Patikul, Sulu on Thursday. 

Gafur Albani Absari, Medzfar Mangabong and Madjid Mangabon were turned over to the 501st Infantry Brigade for disposition and filing of charges, Lt. Col. Gerry Besana, Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) spokesman, said.

Lt. Gen. Arnel dela Vega, Westmincom chief, said there is no letup in the offensives against Abu Sayyaf bandits by personnel of the Joint Task Force Sulu.

Dela Vega said the operations also aim to rescue two foreigners and eight Filipino captives.
