Student falls from 9th floor of Mandaluyong condo

MANILA, Philippines - A student on Monday died after reportedly jumping off the 9th floor of a building in Mandaluyong City.

Initial reports said Luke Darren Santos, 19, a student of the Philippine Maritime Institute, plunged from the 9th floor of the Global Asiatic Tower along EDSA in Mandaluyong.

Santos' body landed on the canopy of the building, the report said.

Reports said Santos arrived at the building with his friend Brian de Mesa at about 4:30 a.m., and tried to find another way into the house after he could not enter his unit.

A radio report said Santos committed suicide after learning that his father has another family.

Police investigation is underway.
