Home-based travel agency workshop set

MANILA, Philippines - A workshop on how to establish a home-based travel agency will be held on Nov. 30, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Del Pilar campus, Magsaysay Blvd., Sta. Mesa, Manila.

The workshop is open to all interested in tourism as an alternative employment. Prof. Nestor Dizon, travel lecturer, will give a talk on how to set up a licensed travel agency with an affordable start-up capital. Topics to be discussed are registration and licensing,minimum financial requirements, high-end source of income, product/service development, strategic marketing, reservations/ticketing, packaging of local and foreign tours, factors determining strategic location, and the effective positioning of agency in local and international tourism industry.
